Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HousingPal (“Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by AIPalTech at www.housingpal.in, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AIPalTech under the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

2. Eligibility

To use HousingPal you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of India or intending to rent property in India
  • Have the legal capacity to enter binding contracts
  • Not have been previously banned from using our platform

By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above requirements.

3. User Accounts

You may browse listings without registration. To post a property, contact landlords, or access your dashboard, you must create an account using a valid email address.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately at support@housingpal.in if you suspect unauthorised access
  • One person may hold only one active account

4. Listing Rules

By posting a listing on HousingPal, you agree that:

  • All information provided is accurate, complete, and not misleading
  • You have the legal authority to rent or advertise the property
  • Owner listings (“listing_source = owner”) guarantee zero brokerage — you must not charge a brokerage or finder's fee to tenants under this category
  • Photos submitted must be genuine photos of the actual property
  • You will not post the same property multiple times or create duplicate listings
  • You will update or remove listings when the property is no longer available

HousingPal reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these rules, without prior notice.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, fraudulent, or misleading listings
  • Solicit advance payments before the tenant has visited the property in person
  • Impersonate any person, organisation, or property
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Use our platform to conduct any unlawful activity
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the platform
  • Attempt to circumvent our fraud detection or reporting systems
  • Create multiple accounts to bypass suspension or bans
  • Use automated bots or scripts to post or interact with listings

Violations may result in immediate account suspension and, where applicable, reporting to law enforcement authorities.

6. Verification and Moderation

HousingPal manually reviews listings before publication. We may approve, reject, or request changes to any listing at our sole discretion. Approval does not constitute an endorsement of the listing's accuracy.

We rely on user reports to identify fraudulent listings. Anyone can report a listing using the “Report” button on the listing page. Verified fraud reports result in immediate suspension.

7. Payments — Boost & Subscriptions

HousingPal offers optional paid features including listing boosts and agent subscription plans. By making a payment:

  • You authorise us to charge the agreed amount via Razorpay
  • All payments are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable GST
  • Boost durations begin immediately upon payment confirmation
  • Payments are non-refundable once the service has been activated, except in the case of a proven technical error on our part
  • Refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours to support@housingpal.in

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

HousingPal is a listing aggregation and discovery platform. We are not a party to any rental agreement between landlords and tenants. We do not verify the physical condition of properties, the identity of owners, or the accuracy of every listing detail.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

Always perform due diligence: visit the property in person, verify the owner's identity, and never transfer money before signing a written rental agreement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AIPalTech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to:

  • Losses arising from fraudulent rental listings not immediately identified by our team
  • Disputes between landlords and tenants
  • Loss of data due to technical failures
  • Any decision made on the basis of information listed on the Platform

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 30 days preceding the claim, or ₹500 — whichever is greater.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, trademarks, and media on HousingPal (excluding user-submitted listing content) is the property of AIPalTech and protected under Indian and international intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, listing descriptions). By uploading content, you grant AIPalTech a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that harms the Platform or its users.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@housingpal.in. Upon deletion, your active listings will be removed and personal data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.

If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via the Platform or by email to registered users. Continued use of HousingPal after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
