HousingPal (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a rental discovery platform operated by AIPalTech, headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit www.housingpal.in or use any of our services.

By using HousingPal, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our platform.

a) Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and any profile details you provide (such as phone number for listing contact purposes).

b) Listing Data: If you post a property or flatmate listing, we collect property details, photos, location, rental price, and your contact information as entered.

c) Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform — pages viewed, search queries, clicks, and session duration — to improve our services.

d) Payment Data: If you purchase a boost or subscription, we collect transaction data. Card details are processed by Razorpay and are never stored on our servers.

e) Communications: When you contact us via the contact form or support tickets, we retain your messages to provide support and improve our service.

f) Device & Log Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and access timestamps are logged for security and fraud prevention.

• Service Providers: Supabase (database), Cloudinary (image storage), Razorpay (payments), Brevo (transactional email), and Render / Vercel (infrastructure). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
• Analytics: Anonymised usage data is shared with Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity for product improvement. No personally identifiable information is shared.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
• Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction.

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Maintain your login session (authentication cookies via Supabase)
• Remember your search preferences
• Collect anonymised usage statistics (Google Analytics)
• Record session replays for UX improvement (Microsoft Clarity)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect certain features such as staying logged in.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

• Account data and listings: retained until you delete your account or request deletion
• Transaction records: retained for 7 years in accordance with Indian financial regulations
• Support communications: retained for 3 years
• Server logs: retained for 90 days

Under applicable Indian law (Information Technology Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011), you have the right to:

• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

• TLS encryption for all data in transit
• Row-level security (RLS) in our PostgreSQL database (Supabase)
• JWT-based authentication with short-lived tokens

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

HousingPal is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

Our platform may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the platform or by email. Continued use of HousingPal after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.
